EXPERIENCES WITH MENTAL HEALTH INSPIRED ME TO LAUNCH MY BUSINESS

Press Release - originally appeared in the Cotswold Journal

Mother of two, Beth Campagna, was inspired to set up an online business that raises awareness of mental health issues after completing the Three Peaks Challenge last year in memory of her dad.

The online clothing brand for mums, MAMA Life, has meaningful slogans printed on tees and jumpers. Her brand has already been worn by I’m A Celebrity contestant and wife to England footballer, Rebekah Vardy.

She writes blogs on her website www.mamalifelondon.com and for the Huffington Post UK to support mothers coping with Postnatal Depression (PND) and people struggling with anxiety and depression.

She said: “When my dad took his life six years ago, I knew at some point that I would want to do something to help raise awareness on mental health issues. My dad completed the Three Peaks Challenge many years ago and when an opportunity came for me to accomplish it I couldn’t resist.

"What was most profound was the date the challenge was planned for, which was the anniversary of my dad’s death.

“After the challenge I decided to look into starting a new clothing brand with the aim of regular blogging and social media campaigns on mental health.

"I was so touched by the people who contacted me after I wrote my first Huffington Post blog. When I started blogging on the MAMA Life London website even more people came forward through social media or email and opened up about their experiences.”

“I don’t think anyone realises until they become a parent how tough it is. It’s easy to slip into worrying about what other people might think about how you raise your children and for some mums that fear can bring on anxiety or postnatal depression. The overall message of MAMA Life is about feeling free to mother the way that works best for you and learning to raise each other up and be supportive."

Beth continues to train for challenges and hopes to do a number of half-marathons this year before taking on London Marathon in 2019 in aid of a mental health charity.
